Waiting on Wednesday: Dance of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights books that have not yet been released, but ones that you should pre-order today! This week's book that we are anxiously awaiting is DANCE OF THE RED DEATH by Bethany Griffin.  DANCE OF THE RED DEATH releases on April 23, 2013 from HarperTeen.

Bethany Griffin continues the journey of Araby Worth in Dance of the Red Death—the sequel to her teen novel Masque of the Red Death.

In Dance of the Red Death, Araby’s world is in shambles—betrayal, death, disease, and evil forces surround her. She has no one to trust. But she finds herself and discovers that she will fight for the people she loves, and for her city.

Her revenge will take place at the menacing masked ball, though it could destroy her and everyone she loves…or it could turn her into a hero.

With a nod to Edgar Allan Poe, Bethany Griffin concludes her tragic and mysterious Red Death series with a heroine that young adult readers will never forget.
I loved Masque of the Red Death.  It was one of my favorite of 2012, and I cannot wait for this one to be released!  The world that Bethany created was both grotesque and beautiful, and I found myself lost in the imagery and poetry of her words.  Araby is such a wonderful female lead, and my heart went out to her when she discovered a haunting truth in the first book.  I am firmly Team Elliot, and I can't wait to see what's next in the romance!!
